Cover - Transmission Housing, Remove and Install (F 23) (Transmission Installed)  

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove front left wheel.   Place collecting pan underneath.   Remove 8 fastening bolts (arrows) from transmission housing (1).   Detach transmission housing cover from transmission housing with KM-J-37228 (2).   Remove transmission housing cover and fluid collector pipe.     Important!    Do not damage sealing surfaces.

  Clean   

Clean all sealing surfaces.     Install, Connect    Coat transmission casing cover with adhesive sealing compound (black), but do not coat hatched area (1) so that the fluid guide pipe (2) does not become blocked.

  Install, Connect   

Insert fluid collector pipe (1).   Attach transmission housing cover (2) with fastening bolts (arrows) to transmission - tightening torque 25 Nm / 18 lbf. ft.   Mount left front wheel - tightening torque 110 Nm / 81 lbf. ft.     Inspect    Top up transmission fluid and check transmission fluid level - see operation "Transmission Fluid Level, Check and Correct".
