Hydraulic Lines - Power Steering, Remove and Install (X 25 XE, Y 26 SE)  

  Remove, Disconnect   

To remove pressure line (2) and return line (1), remove axle body - see operation "Front Axle Body, Remove and Install" in group "E".   Notice:    Operation "Front Axle Body, Remove and Install" includes removing pressure line (2) and return line (1) from steering gear and opening of clips (7).   With engine Y 26 SE, the pressure sensor is omitted for securing the pressure line (5) and is replaced by a banjo bolt.     Remove, Disconnect    Disconnect pressure line (5) from power steering pump. Disconnect return lines (3) and (6) from cooling loop or from fluid reservoir. Remove vacuum line (4) from fluid reservoir and from power steering pump.

  Remove, Disconnect   

Remove cooling loop. Beforehand, remove front panelling - see operation "Front Panelling, Remove and Install" in group "A".  

  Install, Connect   

Attach pressure line with new seal rings to power steering pump - tightening torque 37.5 Nm / 28 lbf. ft.  

Clip in cooling loop. Attach return line to cooling loop and fluid reservoir - tightening torque 2.5 Nm / 2 lbf. ft.  

Attach vacuum line to power steering pump and fluid reservoir - tightening torque 2.5 Nm / 2 lbf. ft.  

Install front axle body - see operation "Front Axle Body, Remove and Install" in group "E".  

  Inspect   

Charge and bleed hydraulic system - see operation "Hydraulic System, Charge and Bleed".
