Condition
Door Seal, Water Retention at Sill Panel
Water gathers between door and sill panel when vehicle is parked in the rain for an extended period.
When entering the vehicle, water that has collected at sill panel can spill onto the shoes.
Technical Background
Unfavorable water routing on the B pillar molded part of the inner window channel seal.
1.
The additional sealing with butyl cord directs water through the provided cut-out in the B pillar.
2.
Additional holes in outer door seals to improve drainage.

Service
1.
Apply Butyl to B-Pillar Seal

Apply butyl between seal and body at B-pillar location shown.
^
Press firmly to position seal.
2.
Pierce Two 6 - 8 mm Holes into Outer Door Seal
Mark both holes to be cut on the outer door seal 80 cm. from the top in locations shown below.
