Radiator: Service and Repair

Radiator

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Refractometer (T10007)

‹› Adapter (V.A.G 1274/8)

‹› Drip Tray (V.A.G 1306)

‹› Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)

‹› Spring Type Clip Pliers (VAS 5024A)

‹› Cooling System Charge Unit (VAS 6096)

Removing

-

Remove the noise insulation.

-

Remove the front bumper.

-

Bring the lock carrier into the service position. See: Body and Frame/Lock Carrier

-

Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] See: Service and Repair/Procedures/Draining and Filling.

-

Disconnect all coolant hoses from the radiator.

-

Remove the fan shroud with fans. Refer to => [ Fan Shroud and Fans ] See: Fan Shroud/Service and Repair.

-

Remove the bolts - 1 - from the radiator brackets.

-

Swing the radiator slightly toward the rear.

-

Remove the Air Conditioning (A/C) condenser bolts - 2 -. 

-

Remove the side bolt - arrow - for the condenser from the radiator.
