Towing Recognition Control Module

Towing Recognition Control Module

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

‹› Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

Removing:

-

Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.

-

Remove left luggage compartment trim.

-

Release the connectors - arrows - and disconnect them from the Towing Recognition Control Module (J345).

‹› For removal, bracket - 1 - must not be removed.

‹› The number of connectors on the towing recognition control module can deviate from the illustration depending on the vehicle equipment.

Remove the mounting bolts - 2 - (2 Nm) and remove towing recognition control module from vehicle.

Installing:

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

-

Tighten all threaded connections to the specification. Refer to => [ Towing Recognition Control Module Tightening Specifications ] See:
Accessories and Optional Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Tow Sensor/Specifications.

‹› After installing a new towing recognition control module, it must be coded. Refer to => [ Towing Recognition Control Module, Coding ] See:

Accessories and Optional Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Tow Sensor/Testing and Inspection/Programming and Relearning.
