Removal and Installation

Special Tools and Equipment

3254 open-end spanner (50 mm)

Removing 

Note:  On vehicles with all wheel drive, always unbolt drive axle on transmission-side and let hang horizontally from body. If omitted, damage at
constant velocity joint is possible.

Remove bolt (arrow) while vehicle is standing on its wheels (if necessary, lift vehicle until the bolt can be reached).

^

Raise vehicle to installation height, taking tension off coil springs.

^

Unbolt shock absorber from control arm, to do so counter-hold at shock absorber using 3254 open end wrench.

Installing 

Installation is the reverse of removal.
