Servicing 34 PICT carburettor
Checking function of pull-down unit
-
‒ Remove air cleaner.
-
‒ Set adjusting screw for cold idling speed to max. fast idle cam setting.

‒ Start engine without pressing accelerator pedal let it idle.

‒ Close choke valve by hand.

‒ If the choke valve can be easily closed to a gap of approx. 4mm and increased resistance is then felt, the pull-down unit is functioning property.
-
‒ If the choke valve can be completely shut without resistance being felt, either the diaphragm has cracked or there is a leak in the vacuum system.
