Checking and adjusting dwell angle ignition timing
Checking and adjustment conditions

● Engine oil temperature min. 60 °C.

● Vacuum hoses connected.
Checking:
-
‒ With ignition switched off dwell angle, ignition timing and engine speed tester (e.g. V.A.G 1367).
-
‒ If necessary use an aux. terminal to connect to terminal 1 of the ignition coil.

‒ Check and necessary adjust dwell angle.
-
‒ Wear limit: 42...58° (47...64%)
-
‒ Adjusting figure: 47 ± 3° (53 ± 3%)
-
‒ Star engine and run at idling speed.
-
‒ Idling speed: 900...1000 rpm
-
‒ Check ignition timing.
With TDC sender
The ignition firing point is indicated directly on the tester.
Test reading: 0 ± 2° (4...8 after TDC)*)
*)when using premium unleaded (RON 95)
