Electrical check of the regulated exhaust system (engine code: JH)
(Carry out wiring and component check on disconnected regulate exhaust control unit plug.)
Notes:

◆ The hand multimeter V.A.G 1526 should be used for the test.

◆ The specifications given are for an ambient temperature of between 0°C and + 40°C.
-
◆ If the measured values differ from specifications, locate the fault using current flow diagram. Before renewing any components, always check wiring and connection.

◆ To connect the tester use the test box V.A.G 1598 with the adapter cable V.A.G 1598-3 (Golf) or V.A.G 1598-2 (Scirocco) and aux. Cables from adapter set V.A.G 1594.

◆ The terminal numbers in the plug and the socket numbers in the test box V.A.G 1598 are identical.
Attention!
To prevent the electronic components from being irreparably damaged, the appropriate measuring range should be selected before connecting up the tester leads.
Test prerequisites:

● Battery voltage OK
-
● Earth wires OK
-
● Fuse Nº. 5 OK
-
‒ With ignition switched offpull plug of Lambda regulation control unit -J21-, 35-pin (Golf) or 25-pin (Scirocco).
Note:
The Lambda regulation control unit is located:
