Note

Grease all joints and friction surfaces.

• Handbrake lever boot
• Locking nut
• Adjusting nut
• Equalizer
• Pivot pin
• ◆ Lightly lubricate
• Handbrake cable
• Quadrant

Adjusting Handbrake

• ‒ → Back off handbrake cable adjusting nuts, adjust footbrake.
• ‒ Pull handbrake lever on as specified.
• ‒ Tighten adjusting nuts until niether of the rear wheels can be turned by hand.
• ‒ Release handbrake lever and check to ensure that both wheels are free to rotate.
• ‒ Tighten locking nuts.

Note

On vehicles with self-adjusting rear brakes the handbrake only needs adjusting when the lever or the cables have been renewed.
