Renewing engine carrier rubber mounting in Golf Mk3

Renewing engine carrier rubber mounting
Renewing engine carrier rubber mounting
–  Fit support bracket -10 - 222 A- with rack -10 - 222 A /1-.
–  Insert support bracket in lifting eye on left cylinder head and take up weight of engine.
–  Remove engine carrier.
   
–  Lever washers off spacer sleeves using pliers (renew damaged or bent washers).
–  Pull out spacer sleeves and unclip rubber mountings.
–  Install new rubber mountings and insert spacer sleeves as far as possible.

–  Fit washers -1- above peening tool -3302- onto rubber mountings -2-.
–  Fit fitting sleeve of peening tool -3302- and press washers onto spacer sleeves. Use press tool -VW 432- as backing plate.
–  If necessary, remove projection or burrs from peening.
