Bleeding brake system on vehicles with and without ABS, ABS/EDL
Bleeding brake system with brake filling and bleeding appliance VW 1238/1 or V.A.G 1238 B
Opening the hydraulic unit bleed screws on vehicles with ABS, ABS/EDL is not permitted!

‒ Connect VW 1238/1 or V.A.G 1238 B.

‒ Open bleed screws in the specified order and bleed brake calipers and wheel cylinders.
Bleeding sequence
1 - Rear right wheel cylinder/
brake caliper
2 - Rear left wheel cylinder/
brake caliper
3 - Front right brake caliper
4 - Front left brake caliper
Vehicles with ABS or ABS/EDL
With these vehicles a test drive must be carried out after bleeding brakes. When doing this an ABS regulation must be performed at least once!
Notes:

◆ On vehicles with brake pressure regulator move the regulator lever when bleeding rear brakes.

◆ Depress the brake pedal several times during bleeding.
