  W00-1058
–  Set crankshaft to TDC No. 1 cylinder mark -arrow- by turning crankshaft on the vibration damper securing bolt in direction of engine rotation.
  N13-0475
–  The camshaft bar -T10068 A- must engage in grooves in both shafts.
If camshaft bar cannot be engaged:
–  Turn crankshaft one full turn further in direction of engine rotation.
  Note
If camshaft bar cannot be fitted, turn crankshaft in direction of engine rotation up to approx. 5 mm past TDC setting for No. 1 cylinder (dependent on drive chain tolerances).
Check setting marks of camshaft adjusters against marks on control housing:
  N15-0341
–  Marks -A- and -B- on camshaft adjusters must align with notches -arrows- in valve timing housing -C-.
–  The distance between tooth -1- and tooth -2- of the camshaft adjuster must be exactly 16 rollers of the camshaft roller chain.
  Note
Figure shows view with cover removed.
If marks do not match: refit or renew timing chains → Chapter.
If the markings align:
