t  Before removing the telematics control unit, it is possible to read out the code via the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system -VAS 5051 oder VAS 5052- in function “J499 - Renewing telematics control unit”, and entering the code into the new telematics control unit after renewal.
t  After renewing the telematics control unit the system must be reconfigured by the “OnStar” telematics central control centre.
