Removing and installing coolant pump
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Refractometer -T10007-
t  Drip tray -V.A.G 1306- or drip tray -VAS 6208-
t  Spring-type clip pliers -VAS 5024 A-
t  Cooling system charge unit -VAS 6096-
t  Adapter for cooling system tester -V.A.G 1274/8-
t  Torque wrench (5…50 Nm) -V.A.G 1331-

Removing
  Note
Always renew seals and gaskets.
–  Drain coolant → Chapter
–  Remove poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Remove toothed belt. → Chapter
   
–  Remove securing bolts -1- for coolant pump -2- and carefully remove coolant pump.
Installing
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing, note the following:
  N19-0234
–  Moisten new O-ring -3- with coolant.
–  Insert coolant pump -2- in cylinder block and tighten securing bolts -1- to 15 Nm.
  Note
The coolant pump plug faces downwards.
–  Install toothed belt. → Chapter
–  Install poly V-belt → Chapter.
–  Replenish coolant. → Chapter
