  Note
t  After working on the exhaust system, ensure that the system is not under tension and that there is sufficient clearance to the bodywork. If necessary, loosen double and single clamps and align silencer and exhaust pipe so that sufficient clearance is maintained to the bodywork and the support rings are evenly loaded.
t  Renew self-locking nuts.
   
1 - Warm air collector plate
2 - 10 Nm
3 - Exhaust manifold
4 - Gasket
q   Renew.
5 - 25 Nm
q   Renew.
6 - 40 Nm
q   Renew.
7 - Front clamp, 25 Nm
q   Before tightening, align cold exhaust system free of tension
q   Installation position → Fig..
q   Tighten bolted connections evenly.
8 - To front silencer
9 - Front tunnel bridge
10 - Catalytic converter
q   Protect from damage by knocks and impact.
11 - 23 Nm
12 - Lambda probe after catalytic converter -G130-, 55 Nm
q   Grease only the threads with high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-; high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3- must not get into the slots of probe body.
13 - Connector
q   4-pin
q   For Lambda probe after catalytic converter -G130-.
q   The connector is located beneath right underbody panel.
14 - 25 Nm
15 - Connector
q   6-pin
q   For Lambda probe -G39-.
16 - Lambda probe -G39-, 55 Nm
q   Grease only the threads with high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-; high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3- must not get into the slots of probe body.
17 - Starter catalytic converter with exhaust pipe
q   Protect from damage by knocks and impact.
q   With flexible connection (de-coupling element).
q   Do not bend flexible connection more than 10° - otherwise it can be damaged.
18 - Cable guide
19 - 25 Nm
20 - Mounting

   
Installation position of front clamp
–  Install clamp so that end of bolt does not extend beyond lower edge of clamp -arrow-.
l  Bolted connection faces to right.
