Adjusting rear lid
  Note
t  Vehicle must be on the ground to carry out rear lid adjustment.
t  The rear lid lock -2- is bolted directly to the rear lid -1-. It does not have elongated holes, so it cannot be adjusted.
t  The adjustment buffers -4- on the left and right are not a means of adjustment. Their purpose is to stabilise and dampen the rear lid -1-.
t  The rear lid is adjusted correctly if the gaps/shut lines are even all around, the door is not too deep or does not stand proud and all contours align when the rear lid is closed.
t  The rear lid must engage in the striker pin -5- without excessive force.
Use the setting gauge -3371- → Rep. gr.00 to check or adjust the gap dimensions.
–  Loosen bolts -3- to adjust rear lid -1- in oversized holes of hinge -arrows a and b-.
Specified torque for bolt -3-: 10 Nm.
–  Adjust buffer -4- on left and right → Chapter
–  Adjust rear lid -1- via striker pin -5- → Chapter
  Note
t  After completing adjustments, perform corrosion protection measures on hinge and bolts.
t  The rear lid lock -2- cannot be adjusted.
