Removing and installing knee airbag bracket (Golf 2009 ►) RHD models
Removing and installing knee airbag bracket (Golf 2009 ►) RHD models
Removing
–  Disconnect vehicle battery → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
–  Remove dash panel → Chapter.
–  Remove footwell vent on driver side → Heating, air conditioning; Rep. gr.80.
   
–  Remove screw -1- (1.5 Nm) and bracket -2-.
–  Release wiring harness -3- from bracket.
–  Unscrew bolts -arrows A- and -arrows B- and remove bracket.

Installing
  WARNING
If a knee airbag bracket is renewed, the paint in the area of the stud and on the contact surfaces of the cross member must be removed. This is absolutely essential to ensure an effective earth connection.
   
  Caution
To ensure trouble-free installation, screw in the bolts in the order specified: -arrows A- and -arrows B-.
–  Secure knee airbag bracket with bolts -arrows A- (9 Nm).
–  Secure knee airbag bracket with bolts -arrows B- (9 Nm).
–  Further installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.
