1 - Removing and installing countersunk bolt → Item or → Item
2 - Flange shaft with compression spring
q   Front-wheel drive, removing and installing → Chapter
q   Front-wheel drive, assembling → Chapter
q   Four-wheel drive, removing and installing → Chapter
q   Four-wheel drive, assembling → Chapter
3 - Retaining ring
q   Only for sheet metal cover plate
q   Fitted from gearbox date 21 01 8
q   Discontinued for plastic cover plate
4 - Cover plate
q   Made of sheet metal or plastic
q   Sheet metal: from gearbox date 21 01 8 secured with circlip → Item
q   Made of plastic: circlip → Item discontinued
q   Allocate components according to → Electronic parts catalogue „ETKA“.
5 - Retaining ring
q   For deep groove ball bearing of input shaft → Item
6 - Reversing light switch -F4-, 20 Nm
q   Changed to captive seal shortly after introduction of gearbox.
7 - Seal
q   Not fitted in all gearboxes
8 - Oil drain plug
q   Torque setting → Fig.
9 - Seal
q   Always renew
10 - Bolt, 6 Nm
11 - Gearbox neutral position sender -G701-
q   for vehicles with start/stop system
12 - Locking bolt, 45 Nm
q   For selector shaft
13 - Bolt
q   Always renew, allocation → Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA)
q   Note different bolts and specified torques.
t  Hexagon socket round head bolt = »through gearbox manufacture date 06 12 9« aluminium bolt M°8 = tighten to 8 Nm and turn 180°further
t  Hexagon socket round head bolt = »from gearbox manufacture date 07 12 9« aluminium bolt M°9 = tighten to 15 Nm and turn 180°further
t  External hexagon socket head bolt = steel bolt = tighten to 15 Nm and turn 90° further
q   Allocation of steel bolts as replacement part → Fig.
14 - Bolt
q   Always renew, allocation → Electronic parts catalogue (ETKA)
q   Note different bolts and specified torques.

15 - Selector unit
q   Repairing → Chapter
q   Removing with gearbox installed:
t  Remove battery and battery tray → Electrical system; Rep. gr.27.
t  The angled rod → Item for adjusting the selector mechanism must not be engaged.
t  Remove selector cables and gearbox selector lever → Chapter
t  Remove locking screw → Item and pull out selector mechanism
16 - Bolt, 20 Nm
q   Always renew
17 - O-ring
q   Always renew
18 - Clutch housing
q   Front-wheel drive, repairing: → Chapter
q   Four-wheel drive, repairing: → Chapter
19 - Gearbox housing
