1 - Rear tunnel bridge
2 - Centre silencer
q   Combined in one unit with rear silencer as original equipment. Can be renewed separately for repairs.
q   Separate exhaust system → Chapter.
q   Aligning exhaust system free of stress → Chapter.
3 - Mounting
4 - Lambda probe after catalytic converter -G130-, 55 Nm
q   When replacing, erase learnt values in engine control unit → vehicle diagnosis tester “Guided fault finding”..
q   If reusing, lubricate the threads of the Lambda probe with high temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-. The paste may not come into contact with the slots on the probe body
q   Connector is located beneath right underbody panel.
5 - 23 Nm
6 - Mounting
q   Renew if damaged.
7 - Front exhaust pipe
q   With catalytic converter.
q   Protect from damage by knocks and impact.
q   With decoupling element.
q   Do not bend decoupling element more than 10° - otherwise it can be damaged.
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
q   Aligning exhaust system free of stress → Chapter.
8 - 25 Nm
q   Renew.
q   Coat exhaust manifold studs with high-temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-.
q   Observe tightening sequence.
9 - Gasket
q   Renew.
10 - Exhaust manifold
q   Removing and installing → Chapter.
11 - 25 Nm
q   Renew.
12 - Lambda probe -G39- before catalytic converter, 55 Nm
q   When replacing, erase learnt values in engine control unit → vehicle diagnosis tester “Guided fault finding”..
q   If reusing, lubricate the threads of the Lambda probe with high temperature paste -G 052 112 A3-. The paste may not come into contact with the slots on the probe body
13 - Front clamp
q   Align exhaust system free of stress before tightening clamp → Chapter.
q   Installation position → Fig..
q   Tighten bolted connections evenly.
14 - 25 Nm
15 - Front tunnel bridge
16 - 23 Nm
17 - 23 Nm
18 - Retainer
q   Renew if damaged.
19 - Rear clamp
q   For separate replacement of centre and rear silencers.
q   Installation position → Fig..
q   Tighten bolted connections evenly.
20 - 25 Nm
21 - Retainer
q   Renew if damaged.
22 - Rear silencer
q   In initial equipment, component with centre silencer. Can be renewed separately for repairs.
q   Aligning exhaust system free of stress → Chapter.
q   Separate exhaust system → Chapter.
23 - Mounting
q   Renew if damaged.
24 - 23 Nm
25 - 23 Nm

   
Installation position of front clamp
–  Install clamp so that end of bolt -arrow- does not extend beyond lower edge of clamp.
l  Bolted connection faces right.

Installation position of rear clamp
–  Install clamp so that end of bolt does not extend beyond lower edge of clamp.
l  Bolted connection faces rear.
