Assembly overview - power steering box (RHD)
It is not intended that repair work be carried out on the power steering box. If problems are reported, perform a pressure test and a leakage test to determine the cause. If a fault is detected, renew the power steering box.
  Note
t  Renew self-locking nuts and bolts. Welding and straightening work on steering components is not permitted.
t  Use only steering box grease -AOF 063 000 04- for greasing steering rack.
t  Renew self-locking nuts and bolts.
t  Fluid type: hydraulic fluid hydraulic fluid -G 002 000-
t  Fluid capacity in system: 0.7 ... 0.9 l
The specified torques for
t  Track rod ball joint to wheel bearing housing
t  Lock nut on track rod
t  Track rod to steering box
t  Steering box to subframe
Same for left-hand and right-hand drive steering boxes.
They are therefore not shown in the following illustration.
1 - Hexagon bolt
q   M6 x 10
q   Torque setting → Anchor.
2 - Hexagon nut
q   M8
q   Torque setting → Anchor.
3 - Hexagon bolt
q   M8 x 25
q   Torque setting → Anchor.
4 - Hydraulic line
5 - Return line
Must be supported on this locating pin -arrow-
6 - Banjo bolt
q   M14 x 1.5
q   Torque setting → Anchor.
7 - Banjo bolt
q   M16 x 1.5
q   Torque setting → Anchor.
8 - Sealing rings
q   Renew.
9 - Hexagon nut
q   M8
q   Torque setting → Anchor.
10 - Steering box
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
11 - Banjo bolt
q   M14 x 1.5
q   Torque setting → Anchor.
12 - Banjo bolt
q   M16 x 1.5
q   Torque setting → Anchor.
13 - Sealing rings
q   Renew.
14 - Heat shield
