| Disconnect earthing strap from battery. Notes for repairs on ABS or ABS/EDL → Chapter. |

| Clean outside of hydraulic unit. Notes for repairs on ABS or ABS/EDL → Chapter. |

| Disconnect all connectors on hydraulic unit. |
| –
| Draw off as much brake fluid as possible from brake fluid reservoir using a suction bottle. |

| Remove supply pipe from hydraulic unit. |
| –
| Disconnect brake lines on hydraulic unit and seal threaded holes with plugs from repair set Part No. 1H0 698 311. |
| –
| Unscrew securing nuts for hydraulic unit. |
| –
| Take hydraulic out of bracket. |
