Install inner sealing lip in cylinder grove with plastic wedge 3409 or equivalent.

Note:  Hold piston in front of caliper housing while performing this step.

Press piston in brake caliper housing with piston resetting tool.

Note:  Protective seal outer lip must seat in piston groove.

Pressure Leak Test

Pressure leak test 

Special tools required 

Test requirements: 

Brake system (hydraulic unit, brake hoses, brake lines and brake calipers) operating properly, leak free.

Remove bleeder screw at a front caliper. Connect pressure gauge VAG 1310 or VAG 1310A and bleed.

Install brake pedal depressor tool between brake pedal and driver's seat.

Apply pressure to brake pedal until gauge indicates 50 bar (725 psi). Pressure must not drop by more than 4 bar (58 psi) during test period of 45
seconds.
