Intake Camshaft Balance Shaft, Removing and Installing

CAUTION!
Always replace the intermediate shaft sprocket. Otherwise the backlash will not adjust itself and it could result in engine damage. The
new intermediate shaft sprocket has an anti-friction coating that wears off after a short period of use, which automatically adjusts the
backlash.

Removing

Remove the balance shaft timing chain => [ Balance Shaft Timing Chain, Removing and Installing ] See: Balance Shaft Chain/Service and
Repair/Balance Shaft Timing Chain, Removing and Installing.

Remove the coolant pump toothed belt => [ Coolant Pump Toothed Belt, Removing and Installing ] See: Water Pump/Service and Repair/Coolant
Pump Toothed Belt, Removing and Installing.

Remove the intermediate sprocket - 1 -.

Remove the intake camshaft balance shaft - 2 -.

Installing
