Removing and installing piston for front brake caliper > < Installing
Repairing Girling/Lucas front brake caliper
Repairing Girling/Lucas front brake caliper
t  When carrying out repairs install all parts supplied in repair kit.
t  Only use methylated spirits to clean brakes.
t  Apply thin coat of assembly paste G 052 150 A2 to brake cylinders, pistons and seals.
   
1 - Dust cap
2 - Bleed valve
q   Apply thin coat of assembly paste G 052 150 A2 to threads before screwing in
3 - Brake caliper
4 - Self-locking hexagon bolt, 35 Nm
q   Renew
q   When loosening and tightening, counterhold on guide pin
5 - Seal
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
6 - Piston
q   Removing and installing → Chapter
q   Apply thin coat of assembly paste G 052 150 A2 to piston before inserting
7 - Protective cap
q   Do not damage when inserting piston
8 - Brake carrier with guide pins and protective caps
q   Brake carrier with guide pins and protective caps
q   Replacement carriers are supplied assembled and with sufficient grease on guide pins
q   If protective caps or guide pins are damaged, renew using repair kit. Use grease sachet supplied to lubricate guide pins
