• ◆ If it cannot be pushed in and out by hand then press in and out using press tool VW 408a.

• ◆ Ensures that the assembly movement is not transmitted directly to the gear stick.
• ◆ Carefully press hook in onto stop.
• Lock washer
• ◆ Always renew, if fitted
• Bush
• ◆ Renew after pulling off cable
• ◆ Press in and out with drift
• Pin, 20 Nm
• ◆ Screw into gearbox

• ‒ Tension gear stick in a vice as shown.
• ‒ Drive spring pin (arrow) in and out with drift.
