Erase fault memory

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Fault reader -V.A.G 1551-

t	Diagnosis lead -V.A.G 1551/3C-

Test prerequisite

l	Fault eliminated

Note

After eliminating faults the fault memory must be read again as follows and then erased.

Procedure

–	Connect fault reader -V.A.G 1551- and select engine electronics control unit with “address word 01”. When doing this the engine should be idling.

Indicated on display:

–	Press buttons 0 and 2 for function “Read fault memory” and confirm entry with Q button.

–	Press → button until all faults still stored have been displayed and the display shows:

–	Press buttons 0 and 5 for function “Erase fault memory” and confirm entry with Q button.

Indicated on display:

–	If the fault memory will not erase there is a fault still in the system and this must be rectified.

–	Press the → button.

Fault memory is erased!
