| Set engine to TDC for cylinder No. 1 -arrow-. Adjustment bar -2065 A- must fit into recess in camshaft. If adjustment bar -2065 A- cannot be inserted, adjust timing as follows. |

| Rotate crankshaft so that adjustment bar -2065 A- can be inserted. |

| Align adjustment bar -2065 A- as follows: Turn locked camshaft until one end of the adjustment bar -2065 A- contacts cylinder head. Use feeler gauge to measure clearance which has arisen at other end of adjustment bar -2065 A-. Insert a feeler gauge with half of the clearance dimension between adjustment bar -2065 A- and cylinder head. Now turn camshaft until adjustment bar -2065 A- contacts the feeler gauge. Insert a 2nd feeler gauge of same dimension at the other end between adjustment bar -2065 A- and cylinder head. |
Note To loosen and tighten camshaft sprocket, never use adjustment bar -2065 A- as a counterhold! Use counterhold -3036-. |

| Loosen camshaft gear securing bolt a half turn. |

| Place a drift through hole in the rear of the toothed belt guard and release the camshaft pulley from camshaft taper with a blow from a hammer. |
