Removal
Removal
–  Before starting works, check safety measures → Chapter.
–  Follow cleaning rules → Chapter.
–  First, check whether a code radio is installed. If this is the case, request the relevant anti-theft password.
–  With the ignition turned off, disconnect the earth strap from the battery -A-.
–  Tilt the back seat forward.
–  Remove Fuel pump (pre-supply pump) -G6- access cover.
  WARNING
The fuel supply system hose is under pressure! Before disconnecting the connections, wrap the connection points in a cloth. Then, reduce pressure and carefully disconnect the connections.
   
–  Disconnect the connector -1- and the supply and return -2 and 3- hoses from the Fuel pump (pre-supply pump) -G6-.
  Note
To unlock fuel pipes, press the safety key.

–  Remove the fastening from the Fuel pump (pre-supply pump) -G6- using the Wrench or VW 5321/7 -3217-.
–  Remove the Fuel pump (pre-supply pump) -G6- and the sealing ring.
  Note
If the Fuel pump (pre-supply pump) -G6- is to be replaced, the old Fuel pump (pre-supply pump) -G6- must be emptied before disposing of it.
