Safety precautions
Safety precautions
  WARNING
When doing any repair work, especially in the engine compartment, pay attention to the following due to the cramped conditions:
t  Route all the various lines and electrical wiring so that they are in their original positions.
t  e.g. for fuel, hydraulics, activated charcoal filter system, coolant and refrigerant, brake fluid, vacuum.
t  Ensure that there is sufficient clearance to all moving or hot components.
  WARNING
Risk of injury from automatic start of engine on vehicles with start/stop system.
t  If the vehicle's start/stop system is activated (indicated by message displayed in dash panel), the engine can start automatically as required.
t  Always ensure that the start/stop system is deactivated when working on vehicle (switch ignition off and switch ignition on again only when necessary).
Note the following if testers and measuring instruments have to be used during a road test:
t  Test and measuring instruments must always be secured to rear seat and operated by a second person.
To prevent injuries to persons and/or destruction of the injection and glow plug system, the following must be noted:
t  The ignition must be switched off before connecting or disconnecting injection or glow plug system wiring or tester cables.
t  The battery should only be disconnected and reconnected with ignition switched off.
