Removing and installing spray jet pop-up cylinders
Removing and installing spray jet pop-up cylinders
  Caution
Spray jet pop-up cylinders must not be extracted by hand.
Depending on type, a hand-extracted pop-up cylinder can get stuck during return stroke.
Pushing back pop-up jet piston by hand is not permissible and can damage pop-up cylinder.
A stuck pop-up cylinder is functional again when activated on respective system.
Only extract pop-up cylinder with water or air pressure.
Removing:
–  Remove front bumper cover → General body repairs, exterior; Rep. gr.63.
–  Extract pop-up cylinder using compressed air and hold tight.
   
–  Unclip cover cap -1- from fasteners -arrows- on spray jet assembly.

–  Push down securing button -1- and pull connection -2- away from pop-up cylinder.
–  Release pop-up cylinder -3- by pressing retaining lugs -arrows- and pull pop-up cylinder -3- backwards out of bracket.
Installing:
Install in the reverse order of removal. When doing this, note the following:
–  On completion of installation work, bleed headlight washer system → Chapter.
