Water Pump: Service and Repair

Coolant Pump

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Engine support bridge 10 - 222 A with hooks 10 - 222 A /10, shackle 10 - 222 A /12, adapter 10 - 222 A /13 and adapter 10 - 222 A /18

^

Refractometer T10007

^

Drip tray V.A.G 1306 or drip tray VAS 6208

^

Torque wrench V.A.G 1331

^

Torque wrench V.A.G 1332

^

Spring-type clip pliers VAS 5024 A

Removing 

-

Drain coolant.

-

Remove the front section of the right wheel housing liners.

-

Remove ribbed drive belt.

-

Position engine support bridge 10 - 222 A with hooks 10 - 222 A /10, shackle 10 - 222 A /12, adapter 10 - 222 A/13 and adapter 10 - 222 A /18 as
shown and support engine in installation position at right lifting eye.

-

Remove bolts - arrows - for engine mount.

-

Only lower engine 40 mm on engine support bridge 10 - 222 A.

Remove belt pulley of coolant pump. To do so, counter hold belt pulley using a drift (standard).
