Removing and installing bulb for daytime running light/side light
Removing and installing bulb for daytime running light/side light
  Caution
Filament bulbs and gas discharge bulbs under pressure!
Danger of injury due to bursting filament lamps and gas discharge lamps!
t  Remove filament bulbs and gas discharge bulbs carefully.
t  Always wear safety goggles and gloves when removing and installing filament bulbs or gas discharge bulbs!
t  Avoid contact with burst glass bulbs.
  Note
The illustrations show removal and installation of the bulb for side light/daytime running light on left. Removal and installation of bulb for side light/daytime running light on right are analogous.
Removing:
–  Switch off ignition and all electrical loads, and pull out ignition key.
   
–  Release connector -1- and pull off.

–  Turn bulb holder -1- in -direction of arrow- as far as stop and remove it together with bulb for side light/daytime running light towards the rear and out of headlight.

–  Pull bulb for side light/daytime running light -2- in a straight line out bulb holder -1-.
Bulb for side light/daytime running light: 12V, 21/5W
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. When installing observe the following:
  Note
Do not touch bulb glass when installing a bulb. Fingers leave traces of grease on the glass, which evaporate when the bulb is switched on and cause the glass to cloud over.
–  Check functions of headlight.
–  Checking headlight settings and adjusting headlight if necessary: „Maintenance manual“ → Booklet35.1
