Removing and installing voltage regulator, manufacturer: Bosch

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	Torque screwdriver -V.A.G 1624-

Removing:

–	Remove alternator → Chapter.

–	Unscrew securing bolt and nuts -arrows- (4.5 Nm) and remove protective cap from alternator.

–	Unscrew securing bolts of voltage regulator -arrows- (2 Nm).

–	Remove voltage regulator from alternator.

Installing:

Install in the reverse order of removal. When doing this, note the following:

–	Tighten threaded connections to specified torques.

t	M5 securing bolt protective cap to alternator - 4.5 Nm

t	M4 securing bolt voltage regulator to alternator - 2 Nm
