P20 SB 87-116 DATED MAY 1986. SERVICE MANUAL TP 30461/1 (ENGLISH), AIR CONDITIONING
A new valve has been introduced into production on the receiver/drier on P20's equipped with air conditioning from the following chassis numbers:
244 - 152479- 245 - 665454-
This valve is used in production only to fill the A/C system with refrigerant, and should not be used for service purposes due to the requirement of a
special adaptor. (See drawing below for location of valve)
If this valve would leak, the system pressure could drop which will result in insufficient cooling or no cooling at all.
This situation can be corrected by removing the A/C filler valve at the receiver/drier and re-routing the A/C hose. The drawings on the next page point
out the difference between the production routing and the re-routed hoses.
To accomplish the re-routing of this hose, first read through the entire procedure outlined below, then carefully follow the steps so that the system is not
open for more than a few seconds. This will alleviate the necessity of replacing the receiver/drier.
