Seat Heater: Testing and Inspection

Backrest Heater Element:

Turn ignition off.

Undo connector between seat cushion and backrest.

Connect an ohmmeter across the terminal pins on the backrest connector.

Ohmmeter should read approx. 1.5 Ohms.
If ohmmeter reading is 0 Ohms:

Open-circuit in backrest heater element or connecting leads to heater element.

First check connecting leads for open-circuit. See: Power and Ground Distribution/Service and Repair

If fault still persists, remove cover as and replace heater element.
