Vacuum Brake Booster: Procedures

With Automatic Transmission

Replacing The Power Brake Booster With Automatic Transmissions 

Removal 

Removing the master cylinder 
Remove the master cylinder.

Removing the power brake booster 

Remove from the passenger compartment: 

-

The screws for the soundproofing panel under the dashboard on the driver's side

-

the soundproofing panel. Note the wiring for the courtesy lighting

-

the spring, washer and bolt from the support rod

-

the 4 nuts for the power brake booster.

Remove from the engine compartment: 

-

The vacuum hose on the power brake booster

-

the power brake booster. Do not damage the power brake booster

-

the seal.

Installation 

Installing the power brake booster 
Clean the power brake booster and the cowl panel.

Install in the engine compartment: 

-

A new gasket on the power brake booster

-

the power brake booster. Do not damage the power brake booster.
Ensure that the support rod is correctly positioned on the brake pedal

-

the vacuum hose.
