Throughly wipe clean the surfaces on the rack and the tool.
Note! Cleanliness is very important as the seals in the steering gear are sensitive to scratches on the rack.
Install tool for counterhold. Use: 999 7020 Counterhold See: Tools and Equipment/999 7020 Counterhold together with shim: 999 7021 Distance to
9997020 See: Tools and Equipment/999 7021 Distance to 9997020. Tighten with 25 Nm.
Place the counterhold so that no part of the tool rests on the machined surface.
