Throttle Valve Cable/Linkage: Adjustments
NOTE: Before adjusting the throttle control cable, make sure that:

Throttle cable adjustment is correct.

Throttle cable free play is correct.

Idle speed is correct.

You warm up the engine to normal operating temperature (the radiator fan comes on).
1. Check that the throttle control cable is routed correctly and held in place by the three clamps.
2. Verify that the throttle control cable is installed properly on the throttle linkage bracket, and the throttle linkage is in the fully-closed position.
3. Loosen the locknut and adjusting nut on the throttle control cable at the throttle control lever.
