4. Remove the free play in the throttle control cable with the adjusting nut, while pushing the throttle control lever to the fully-closed position as
shown.
5. Tighten the locknut while holding the adjusting nut.
6. After tightening the locknuts, inspect the synchronization and throttle control lever movement.
NOTE: To tailor the shift/lock-up characteristics to a particular customer's driving expectations, you can adjust the throttle control cable up to 2
mm (0.078 inch) shorter than the "synchronized" point.
