Fuel Door Release Cable: Service and Repair
Fuel Fill Door Opener Cable Replacement
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations and precautions and procedures before performing repairs or service.
1. Remove these items:

Rear seat cushion and rear seat-back
-
C-pillar trim, left side
-
Door sill trim, left side
-
Slide bar, left side
-
Rear side trim panel, left side
-
Rear shelf
-
Trunk side trim panel, left side
2. Pull the carpet back as necessary.
3. Disconnect the fuel fill door opener cable (A) from the opener (B).
4. Using a clip remover, detach the clip (C) from the protector (D).
5. Release the opener cable from the clips (E, F, G) and cable cushion (H), then remove the fuel fill door latch (I) by turning it 90 °.
6. Remove the fuel fill door opener cable from the vehicle. Take care not to bend the cable.
7. Install the cable in the reverse order of removal, and replace the cable cushion and any damaged clips.
