2. Keep the parking brake lever release button (A) pushed with a piece of tape.
3. Attach a spring scale (B) to the center of the lever grip (C).
4. Have an assistant pull the parking brake lever up with 88 N (9 kgf), 19.8 lbs) of force while you drive the vehicle at about 31 mph (50 km/h) for
400 m (1/4 mile).
5. Release the parking brake lever, and stop the vehicle for 5 - 10 minutes to allow the drums to cool.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 three more times.
7. Check the parking brake lever adjustment.
