Rear Door Latch: Service and Repair
Rear Door Latch Replacement
NOTE:

Put on gloves to protect your hands.

Take care not to scratch the door or the related parts.
1. Raise the glass fully.
2. Remove the door panel See: Rear Door Panel/Service and Repair/Rear Door Panel Removal/Installation.
3. Detach the harness clip, and disconnect the power door lock actuator connector. Remove the plug caps, then remove the plastic cover, as needed
See: Rear Door Handle/Rear Door Exterior Handle/Service and Repair.
4. Remove the screws and the nut securing the latch (A).
5. Detach the rod fastener See: Rear Door Handle/Rear Door Exterior Handle/Service and Repair.
6. Disconnect the outer handle rod from the outer handle See: Rear Door Handle/Rear Door Exterior Handle/Service and Repair.
7. Detach the latch cable (A) and the inner handle cable (B) from the holder (C), and lower the latch (D).Remove the latch out from between the rear
lower channel (E) and the door. Take care not to bend the outer handle rod, the latch cable, and the inner handle cable.
