Fuel Injector: Service and Repair
Injector Replacement
1. Relieve fuel pressure See: Fuel Filter/Fuel Pressure Release/Service and Repair.
2. Remove the charge air cooler See: Turbocharger/Intercooler/Service and Repair.
3. Disconnect the throttle body 6P connector, then remove the injector cover (A).
4. Disconnect the connectors (B) from the injectors, then remove the harness holder (C) from the fuel rail (D).
5. Disconnect the quick-connect fitting (E).
6. Remove the fuel rail mounting nuts (F), then remove the fuel rail.
7. Remove the injector clips (G) from the injectors.
8. Remove the injectors from the fuel rail.
9. Coat the new O-rings (black) (A) with clean engine oil, then insert the injectors (B) into the fuel rail (C).
