Shifter A/T: Removal and Replacement
A/T Shift Lever Removal

A/T Shift Lever Removal

1. Remove the center console panel  See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Center

Console Removal/Installation, and the driver's console cover  See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/Center Console Removal/Installation.

2. Shift the transmission to R.

3. Remove the nut securing the shift cable end.

4. Rotate the socket holder (A) on the shift cable (B) a quarter turn; the tab (C) on the socket holder will be in the opening (D) of the shift cable

bracket (E). Then slide the holder to remove the shift cable from the bracket. Do not remove the shift cable by twisting the shift cable guide (F).
