Parking Brake Pedal: Testing and Inspection
Inspection
1. Press the parking brake pedal with 294 N (30 kgf, 66 lbs.) of pressure to fully apply the parking brake. The parking brake pedal should be locked
within the specified number of clicks.
Pedal Locked Clicks: 6 - 8
Pressed with 294 N (30 kgf, 66 lbs.)
If the number of pedal clicks is excessive, inspect the parking brake linings for wear. If the parking brake linings are not worn beyond the service
limit, minor adjustments (1 - 2 clicks) can be made with the adjusting nut in the equalizer.
CAUTION: After replacing the linings, make sure you drive the vehicle for "break-in. purposes.
