REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Disconnect the PCS tube (purge valve vacuum hose) from the EVAP canister purge valve, and measure the inside diameter of the tube (hose). Is
the inside diameter of the tube 7.5 mm? Yes - Go to step 2.
No - Replace the PCS tube, then go to step 2.
2.
Replace the throttle body.

Refer to page 11-411 of the 2002-06 RSX Service Manual, or
^
Online, enter keyword THROTTLE, and select Throttle Body Removal/Installation (K20A3) from the list.
3.
Do the idle learn procedure:
^
Make sure all electrical items (A/C, audio unit, defogger, lights, etc.) are off.
^
Start the engine, and let it warm up to its normal operating temperature (the cooling fans cycle twice).
^
Let the engine idle (throttle fully closed and all electrical items oft) for 10 minutes.
4.
Center-punch a completion mark above the first character of the engine compartment VIN.
5.
For California residents only: Fill out and give to your client a Vehicle Emission Recall - Proof of Correction certificate. On the certificate, write
down Q61 as the Recall Number. Advise your client to keep this certificate as proof that the emissions recall was completed. Your client will need
to submit this certificate to the DMV if the DMV requests it. A supply of these salmon-colored certificates was sent to your service manager. If
you need more, use reorder number Y0657.
