Exhaust Pipe Nuts Seize
PROBLEM
The exhaust pipe flange nuts seize on the exhaust manifold studs, causing the studs to break during removal.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Use the repair procedure in this bulletin to remove the exhaust pipe flange nuts whenever exhaust pipe removal is required (transmission replacement or
service, clutch replacement). Replace them with new-style nuts that are designed to prevent seizure.
