1. When installing valves in the cylinder head, coat valve stems with oil before inserting into the valve guides, and make sure the valves move up and
down smoothly.
2. After the valves, springs and keepers are assembled, lightly tap the end of each valve stem two or three times with a plastic mallet to ensure proper
seating of valve and valve keepers.
NOTE: Tap the valve stem only along its axis so you do not bend the stem.
