7. Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), or press the engine start/stop button to select the OFF mode.
8. Remove the gauge control module connector. See: Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators/Instrument Cluster / Carrier/Service and
Repair
9. Check for continuity between cable reel 20P connector terminal No. 18 and gauge control module 32P connector terminal A2.
Is there continuity?
YES - Check the illumination control circuit in the gauge control module self-diagnostic function. See: Instrument Panel, Gauges and
Warning Indicators/Testing and Inspection/Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes
NO - Repair open in the wire between cable reel 20P connector terminal No. 18 and gauge control module.
10. Disconnect the paddle shifter + (upshift switch) connector.
11. Check for continuity between paddle shifter + (upshift switch) connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2.
Is there continuity?
YES - Replace the cable reel subharness. See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Wheel/Service and Repair/Overhaul/Steering
Wheel Disassembly/Reassembly
NO - Replace the paddle shifter + (upshift switch). See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Paddle Shifter + (Upshift Switch) or
Paddle Shifter - (Downshift Switch) Replacement
